Systems and Energies Private Limited (Synen), established in 2013 and headquartered in Pokhara, Nepal, is at the forefront of addressing the nation's critical energy challenges. Born out of a dire need to mitigate up to 18 hours of daily load shedding during dry seasons, Synen has swiftly positioned itself as a leader in the renewable energy sector, specifically in photovoltaic (PV) solar systems.
Synen's journey began with the successful installation and commissioning of over 300 kW of PV systems across Nepal within its first three years. These installations were pivotal in demonstrating the potential of solar energy in both commercial and residential settings, with 60% of projects catering to commercial needs and 40% to residential. This initial success laid the foundation for Synen's expansive growth and diversification in the renewable energy sector.
In recent years, Synen has carved out a significant niche in solar water lifting for drinking water and irrigation. The company has installed more than 1 MW of solar water lifting systems, employing innovative financing models to support grassroots farmers, including two successful pilot projects in Chitwan. This focus on solar water lifting showcases Synen's commitment to integrating sustainable energy solutions in everyday life and agriculture.
One of Synen's most remarkable achievements is the completion of two landmark 500 kW rooftop solar installations at Manipal Hospital, Pokhara, and Lumbini Medical College. These projects not only underscore Synen's technical prowess and capability to handle large-scale installations but also highlight the company's role in promoting sustainable energy within critical sectors such as healthcare and education.
